Classical Britain
A celebration of classically inspired architecture in Britain. Exploring its history, fine examples and future. By Sam Richards.

The reason Chatsworth House glistens in the sunlight? Gilded windows. The current Duke of Devonshire… “Has already spent £14m restoring the butterscotch limestone exterior, gilding 50 window frames, as well as doors, urns and finials along the roof with 23.5-carat gold leaf”. He jokingly describes it as “vulgar, but historically accurate”.

Incredible.
